Was I Not Supposed To Say That?

My boyfriend was hugging me and I told him he smelled good and he was like, "Um... Thanks?"

I can't help it if I like the way he smells. Just thought it was something sweet to say but apparently it's just awkward.

And, when he said he was gonna leave, I put my arms around him and said, "No, you can't leave." And he asked why and I said, "Because I said so." And it was like, nothing. I was just trying to be kinda cute and show some affection for him and it was like he couldn't have cared less.

Why is he going out with me if he doesn't like me?
